Breakfast Club

Breakfast Bunch Club

This club is run by our Waterside Team members (Miss Bell, Miss Cyster and Mr McHugh). Breakfast Club is held in the Dining Room until 8:45 when the children will be sent to class to start the school day.  From September 2024 you will need to book in advance. Each child must be booked separately.    Access is via the Box Tree Close entrance, open from 7:40 - 8:05am (after this time the gates will be locked and the doorbell switched off to safeguard and ensure that the children receive the best experience and care in Breakfast club's care) and your child must be signed in with the supervisor before your child is dropped off.  This club costs £3 per session with a nutritious breakfast provided. £2 for each additional sibling. Children who are in receipt of Pupil Premium can access this club for free.

Payments

Payments for Breakfast Bunch club must be paid via ParentPay.  Simply adding funds to the payment item does not secure a session.

You will find registration forms for Breakfast club below and these must be completed and returned to school before your child attends.

The Breakfast Club will offer-

A tasty breakfast - the most important meal of the day!

Breakfast Choices:

  • Variety of Cereals - Cornflakes, Cheerios, Rice Krispies and Weetabix
  • Variety of Drinks - water and milk
  • Toast and butter
  • Fruit

Waterside Primary Academy is part of Buckinghamshire Council’s Healthy School Award scheme and the selection of food available for the children at Breakfast Bunch Club is in line with our Healthy Eating & Drinking Policy. Children with any dietary requirements will be catered for.

Children are asked what they would like to eat and drink. Breakfast is served in a buffet style, where the children are able to see and self-select the foods that are on offer to them. Food is eaten sitting down at a table. Emphasis is placed on good table manners and behaviour throughout. Children are encouraged to have sufficient water or milk to drink to ensure adequate hydration at the start of the day. As each child finishes their breakfast, they are encouraged to clear away their own crockery and cutlery, placing items in the washing up box. After their breakfast, children may join another table where activities are laid out or choose to play or chat with friends. Activities may include construction toys, board games, drawing materials reading, completing homework or simply chatting quietly to friends.

The Breakfast Bunch Club will not run on the days that the school is closed.

Cancellation

If the school cancels the club or your child does not attend due to illness and is absent from school for the day, the school will make a credit for each session missed to your ParentPay account. The only cause for cancellation would be school closure due to adverse weather conditions or problems with the school building e.g. no heating or water supplies or in exceptional circumstances due to staff illness. In the event of closure a member of staff will contact parents as soon as possible via our teachers2parents. School closures through adverse weather conditions will also be on the school website.
