PTA
Warm Welcome from your PTA
As a parent of a child at Waterside Primary Academy, you are automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is about much more than fundraising (though we do plenty of that too!). It exists to strengthen the links between home and school and provides a wonderful way to bring parents, staff, and supporters together socially in support of our fantastic school.
What does the PTA do?
We meet on a regular basis, usually once per term, when all members are very welcome. At these meetings we plan events and make suggestions for spending funds. Events are affordable and fun for the children, such as the Christmas fair, Summer Fair and Halloween disco. We are proud to support the school by purchasing resources that truly enrich the children’s experiences, most recently funding 30 brand-new laptops to boost computing provision across the school. One of our biggest achievements in recent years has been funding the refurbishment of the school library, transforming it into a welcoming and inspiring space that is loved by both children and staff. This vibrant library has become the heart of the school, sparking a real love of reading and providing a place where imaginations can grow and thrive.
You will receive regular updates from the PTA via the school newsletter.
The committee - who are we?
The PTA committee is made up of parent volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in our school community and working closely with the school to provide the very best for all children. We are always looking for new committee members and fresh ideas! You don’t have to commit regularly. We also welcome anyone who would like to organise a one-off event, help by collecting raffle prizes or setting up events. It’s a fantastic way to meet like-minded parents, and by sharing the running of activities amongst a larger group, it’s both manageable and fun!
