The day begins at 8:45am with a calm start and children have time to read and practise key skills. Mornings focus on core subjects, with daily phonics lessons for thirty minutes, followed by writing and maths for one hour each. 

In the afternoons, foundation subjects are taught. Every half term children will do science, music, computing. PSHE, RE, either history or geography and either art or DT. Please see the half-term overview on the Year 1 page for more details.

Children also have two PE sessions each week, one taught by the class teacher and one by specialist coaches from Premier. Once a year, the class will have forest school for one afternoon a week for half a term.
