Home Learning
Homework is given out on Fridays and is due back on Wednesdays. It is designed to support children’s in-school learning. Tasks are pitched within the children’s ability so they can complete the work as independently as possible, while also encouraging them to take their own learning and interests further.
Spellings and 'Cracking number' tests are set each week. There is also additional work linked to grammar or topic which changes weekly. Spelling and Cracking number tests take place at the end of the week. As the year goes on, Year 2 will be able to use a website called 'Times table Rockstars' to support them in their times table learning.
A homework club is run weekly by members of the senior leadership team to support children who find it difficult to complete homework at home.
See below for an example of a typical week of homework.
