Curriculum Information

A typical day in year 6 starts with the school doors opening for a 9:45am start. The day begins calmly with a quiet start, giving children a chance to organise themselves for learning.

This is followed by a guided reading lesson where children get a chance to practice comprehension and discussion skills, which is then followed by a focused writing lesson linked to their learning.

At 10:30am the children get a 15 minute break, a time to socialise and recharge before our maths lesson.

In mathematics, the lessons focus on building confidence, problem solving and preparing children for the demand of secondary school.

Afternoons vary across the week and include a broad, balanced curriculum.

Monday- Science and PSHE

Tuesday- History and Music

Wednesday- Computing

Thursday- P.E (with premiere) and R.E
